I thought I was allowing God to meet my needs, especially my need for security. In reality, though, I expected Jerry to meet my needs, and I wasn’t very happy when he didn’t or couldn’t.
We all have a desire to be loved and cherished. As little girls we look to our fathers to fulfill our need for love. As women, we hope for a real-life Prince Charming. However, in the flawed world in which we live, even godly men often fail to communicate or show love in the ways we perceive we need it.
I wanted to be a thinker, so that my children would not be limited by my lack of ability. I also wanted to know what it meant to love God with all my mind. But how does one learn to think?
